Cost will vary with electricity depending on how you're getting your electical power. Obviously if you're using a generator costs will be higher due to gasoline costs.
All in all though the little cat heaters are probaby cheaper as they can run for hours on very little propane. On the other hand though they are less efficient since they don't have a fan or blower on them so it's more a radiated heat. Personally from experience though I stoped using my cat heater inside because I didn't like the smell that it created. Although supposedly safe to use indoors the smell wasn't something I wanted to deal with.

I'd say that if you're trading your C for a trailer you're probably not going to see much gain in MPG. Your C probably gets pretty "decent" mileage as it is. Once you load up your trailer and TV with all the weight you may find that you're getting less MPG than you were with the C. With my setup I get between 8 and 10 MPG and you'll find very few that will report more than about 15mpg with a loaded trailer. Even with a diesel you may find things are close.

The only way to properly shield against GSM interference (that coming from your cell phone) is to actually shield the electronics of the CB head unit. If you can wrap a piece of heavy aluminum foil (only as a test) around the head unit making sure to vent properly then you'll see what I mean. The other interferrence you're resolving by putting electronics in line with the power for the head unit is that which is generated by the electronics of the vehicle itself.. usually the alternator. Used to be a big problem in the early days of CB but most of the auto manufactures made changes in automotive electroncs that using the extra diodes and such wasn't needed anymore. A higher quality CB may be in order as well that already has the shielding in place.

It depends on what you are trying to do.
If you are just looking to tether your laptop, you can do that with most of the Verizon phones. I am using it with my KRZR. As long as you pay for your data plan. There are ways to get around that and use your airtime instead of paying for a full data plan.
Crackberry is a different animal. The point of having one is that is so you do NOT have to lug your laptop and everything is self contained.
I Do have a BB Bold. It is pretty cool, but I can see the Storm would be much cooler(touch screen). If I did not have to do international travel, I would wait for the Storm. The only advance the Bold has is it finally added WiFi and 3G. the old GSM/GPRS/EDGE BB was just slow.

FYI the Storm is an international device and has dual radio both GSM and EVDO :) .. EVDO-REVA is also faster than AT&T 3G and REV-0 is a huge bunch faster than EDGE with the "old" BlackBerry.

If you haven't bought yet wait a month or two. The new BlackBerry Storm from Verizon is going to give the AT&T Bold a run for it's $$$. Both the Bold and the Storm though are going to offer a lot more features and run on each carriers faster networks for a much better internet experience. Something the world of BlackBerry users has been waiting for. Not to mention if you needed to (with an extra cost) you can tether these to your laptop computer for a wireless modem which is nice to have if you need to access something from your computer.

jay2003, your best friend is a bully. It is very easy to abuse a minimum wage cashier who is trying to adhere to a store policy which may or not make sense. Why not ask to see a manager if he is so upset at not getting change? Besause thats what a bully does when he does not get his way....pick on the defenseless.
Not to get off topic but I would only agree with you if he hadn't already made a purchase and just forgot to ask for change during that transaction (never leaving the counter) and was willing to wait through the next customer in line. Yes if he had just walked up and asked for change and handn't made a purchase then yes the cashier would have had to follow policy. Sorta like the OP standing at the counter of the KOA and trying to do all the transactions at the same time. The point of the story is that sometimes people at the counters of businesses aren't willing to work with you and provide real customer assistance. That concept is sorta lost in a lot of the US these days.

I'm sure they have a policy against all the stuff you mentioned to keep them from losing money. Figure you buy the card and they discount all the nights stay basically paying for the card a couple times over. Then you don't come back again.. so they lose $$. I'm sure KOA functions like the cell companies do. Free phones .. umm.. yeah.. they make their $$$ back by signing you up for a contract that pays for the phone ultimately. So you buy the KOA card.. they overprice their sites to begin with but you end up coming back again since you have the card. You pay the discounted yet still overpriced site costs and they make their $$ back over time.
I have to tell this story that happend to my best friend because it applies here. So my friend purchased something at a big box clothing store but paid for it on his ATM card. He turned away from the counter then rememebed he promised his daughter he would give her some coins to stick in one of the vending machines. He didn't have any coins so he asked the cashier. She wouldn't open the drawer and break his $5 bill even though he had just made a purchase. She said she couldn't open the drawer without purchase. Ok so someone else was in line so he waited. When her drawer opened he asked and she again said she couldn't do it.. It was against policy to give change. So he reaches down and found a nicknack on the counter and said he wanted to puchase it. She rings him up gives him change which he pockets. When her drawer closes he tells her. "Ok now I would like to return this product." Cashier couldn't do a darn thing except take the return and give him his money back. He ended up with his change, made his point with the cashier through his actions and his daughter was happy. Too funny if you ask me. Sounds like your KOA cashier experience.

I do it on the floor because your fridge will still be within the tollerances of operation. If it's not then you've got bigger problems. :B
BTW my 5 year old almost did the same thing but I caught her before she twisted it. Kids are definitely creative.

I would imagine the whole grandfather thing would take place. Sorta like they do with automobiles. In time I'm sure they'll be some sort of replacment requirement... but that will be a long time. If as Honda says all their generators are CARB compliant then I would imagine they meet the emissions stuff on the engine itself and that the real difference may in fact be the gas cap. I think I commented before but why would Honda just not send out all the same gas caps and avoid confusion. Maybe cost has something to do with it.. who knows. They should do like the automobile industry finally did in making 50 state legal vehicles.

On a more technical note, what is the physical difference between the two gas caps? Just curious.
Venting is different. I would imagine on the California models that the venting when ON is less than the venting on other models. Less fuel evaporation. The same standards are used for gasoline cans that also have to have caps that reduce or prevent fuel evaporation which is one of the leading causes of polution for small engines.

Research before you speak sir. All states will eventually adopt the CARB standards as EPA standards start to meet or exceed current CARB standards. California is just a bit ahead of the game currently.

This EPA standard was just signed September 2008 - Note the section under What are the new standards. EPA mandates current CARB standards at the federal level by 2011

You do know (as has been widely publicized in automotive circles) that Nissan's next generation Titan is rumored to be a variant of the 2009 Dodge Ram, and will be built by Chrysler right? Part of a sharing agreement between Nissan and Chrysler. Nissan gets the pickup, Chrysler get a Versa variant small car....
Nissan wanted the engine but didn't want the redevelopment costs to stuff the engine into the existing Titan. The new Titan will in fact be a Dodge with a Nissan Titan label and some Nissan body styling.

ScanGauge uses the information from the ODBC-II connector meaning it gets it's information directly from the vehicle ECU. Should be just as accurate as any external aftermarket gauge you may want to install.

All Honda generators are equipped with United States Department of Agriculture qualified spark arrestors to help prevent fires.
According to the Mayberrys website:

You're correct! I wonder why they told me different over the phone?
Read my earlier post. All Honda generators are CARB certified yes if you're looking at the marketing. They're basically saying they make a CARB certified model of all their generators. In reality there are two different SKU numbers depending on if you're ordering in California or outside California. I did some additional research after my previous post and the only real difference is the gas cap as the engines are the same. Not sure why Honda doesn't just make all of them CARB certified with the same gas caps.
In response to the other poster that said theirs only has "A" at the end of their model number. This is correct and is the same as mine. These models were sold in California prior to the legislation that was put into place requiring CARB certification on small engines. These are still perfectly legal to use in California EXCEPT in areas that require you use CARB certified equipment... which are few and far between right now. In looking at the user manuals for the EU2000i they actually have photos of the gas cap with designations for "California" and "non-California" model. When I look at my gas cap it's the "non-Califoria" one since I purchased my generator prior to the requirement. Camping World started selling the CARB certified EU2000i within a year of my purchase. I believe legislation was finalized in 2007 from the technical link in my previous post.

Hmm.. everyone has said to check for an air leak into your fresh water tank. Even when I have no water in my fresh water tank though my pump will eventually turn off from simply the air pressure in the lines. My guess is that you've got a leak someplace else. Fresh water from the tank to the pump should come off the bottom of the tank so any air in the tank wouldn't be a problem. It's more likely to be in one of the lines instead. It's the pressure after the water goes through the pump that shuts the pump off. Doesn't matter if the pressure is air or water.. at least not in my trailer.
What happens if you connect to city water? Do you have full pressure? That would give you an idea of where to look for a leak.. either before or after the pump inlet.
Something to consider as well.. does your pump have an adjustment screw on it that is causing it not to function at optimal levels?

I've had the same question and took a look at the Honda web site and parts manuals. CARB compliance requires a spark arester on the exhaust for one (Which all the Honda units aparently already have). I purchased my EU2000 from Camping World on a sale about 9 months before they started advertising CARB compliant generators. I've never had a problem using mine anywhere HOWEVER there are some places I've been (when I didn't have my gererator with me) that had signs posted stating that CARB compliance was required. These were mainly offroad places that required this for Off-Road vehicles as well as generators used in those areas.
From what I can tell though the spark arrestor is the main thing. There is a difference between the two models though which most likely deals with emissions. The fuel cap is different as well. I would imagine that the California one meets certain standards for evaporation from the fuel tank when the vent is open for operation. Not sure otherwise. Honda does in fact have two different SKU #'s for their generators with the CARB compliant one being stamped appropriately should you get inspected. I would question any company though that would send you a non-CARB compliant generator if the delivery address is California as it's illegal for them to sell them here these days.

BTW you can tell if it's a California model by looking at the model number.
Honda EU2000iAC is California CARB compliant.
Honda EU2000iAN is for all other states.

Not recomended.. payload is way to low for one (only 1300# total which includes passengers and gear) not to mention the spring's on the 05-early 08 are lightly sprung. Toyota went to a 4 leaf pack in later 08 models and if you push them they'll do the TSB for the previous years but still people complain about to much rear end squat under heavy payload. I don't have the TSB on my 05 and 1000# of dirt had me just about on the bump stops. Many other stories on Tacoma World about sag. I added a set of Roadmaster Active Suspension springs and it made a big difference with my trailer. Haven't loaded that 1000# of dirt again though.
